My body is SO CLOSE to being all-out sick. I’m really bad at remembering to drink enough water, but it’s especially helpful when your body’s already threatening to shut itself down.
This is how i make myself be an adult. With swears.
[EDIT] Why is Tumblr de-rezzing the preview image? pooooop.
Oh hey I’m in Italy
My work for the upcoming Doctor Who tribute show at Meltdown Comics! It’s here in LA on November 1st, and loads of talented artists have come out of the woodwork to share out love for the good Doctor.
With something like Doctor Who, there’s so much rich, amazing material to work from. Obviously you have the companions and a vibrant rogues gallery, but i’ve always really loved River Song, both her character and her unique relationship with the doctor. Sorting through her timeline requires a bit of a roadmap, but fortunately the internet was ahead of me on that one. Her story is powerful and beautiful and tragic AND she’s got big awesome curly hair, what’s not to love?

My piece for the Doctor Who Tribute Show at Meltdown Comics!
I felt like doing something somewhat Mucha-inspired, incorporating Gallifreyan-esque designs. Plus I just wanted an excuse to spend a lot of time drawing Amy’s gorgeous hair.
If you’re in the LA area, come check out the show’s opening night on November 1st at Meltdown Comics!
Aw JEEZ, Chelsea also knocked it out of the park for this show.
totally innocent transparent creeper for your dash! Got to draw him for the Xbox One Minecon shirt.
It’s easy for me to get caught up in life’s day-to-day stresses that I end up missing all of the good stuff that happens, and so it seemed worth reflecting on what 2013 meant to me. A little late to the party, but what the hell!
I’m still trying to figure out what I want and need 2014 to be, but some big takeaways: more sleep, more art for me and not for the churning masses, more time spent in isolated cabins in the woods. Less stress.
In the meantime, THANK YOU GUYS. Thanks for sticking around. Happy New Year. :)
Painted up a quick self portrait last night! I’ve been drawing the cartoon version of myself a lot lately, and it made me realize that I hadn’t actually looked at my face in a while.
a bunch of the plein air sketches I was working on during my Utah trip! A week drawing rocks, getting mistaken for a ranger twice- pretty ideal.
